STEP export

Generate a STEP file from a description.

Create real parametric STEP (AP242) solids from plain English — editable in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, FreeCAD, Onshape and any CAM package. No modelling required.

STEP (ISO 10303) is the universal exchange format for solid CAD. AiCadGen generates true AP242 STEP solids in millimetres from a text description, so the result is not a mesh approximation but a real B-Rep model with accurate edges, faces and dimensions. Open it in any major CAD or CAM package and keep working.

  • AP242 STEP in millimetres — the modern standard for product data exchange.
  • Solid B-Rep geometry, so feature-recognition tools can rebuild a parametric tree.
  • Imports cleanly into SolidWorks, Fusion 360, FreeCAD, Onshape, Inventor and CAM.
Try a prompt like
  • $Mounting bracket, 80x60mm, 5mm thick, 4x M6 holes, 3mm fillets
  • $Bearing block for 608 bearing, bolt-down base, M5 holes
  • $Adapter flange, 100mm OD, 80mm bolt circle, 6 holes

Frequently asked questions

Is the STEP file a solid or a mesh?

A solid (B-Rep). It has exact geometry you can measure, constrain and machine — not a triangulated mesh.

What STEP version do you export?

AP242 in millimetres, written with OpenCASCADE, which is the current standard and imports cleanly into all major CAD/CAM tools.

Can I make it parametric again?

Yes — run feature recognition (SolidWorks FeatureWorks, Fusion "Recognize features") to convert the solid back into an editable feature tree.
